Intermediates through aspiring experts
Goals
Green terrain level skiers become proficient
on steeper blue terrain, blue level skiers become proficient on black diamond
groomers and black diamond skiers learn new steep mountain chute techniques.
For those willing
to take the challenge, a black diamond chute simulation will be set on "Chicken" at
Welch Village. Coaches are double black diamond skiers who have
taught on mountain terrain and love this lesson!
This 3 Lesson Series Includes:
Lesson 1:
Chics Can Do Steeps!
Drills include short radius turns with pole plant for steep terrain, unweighting, hip angulation and counter rotation to enhance edge grip. Line of focus and overcoming "fear factors" are addressed. Skills are introduced on less challenging terrain, then reintroduced on steeper terrain. Intermediate students will learn the skills necessary to easily tackle black groomers.
Lesson 2:
Carving For Girlz
Stuck on "a skill plateau?"
Then it's time to master carving skills.
Lesson includes carving techniques to conquer skidding and slipping on steeper/icy terrain, and drills to develop confidence with higher speed.
Lesson 3:
Girlz Choice
Sample a gentle NASTAR race course, or try out "Bumps for Girlz" on gentle soft
moguls, or review and consolidate Lesson 1 and 2 with video analysis.
It's your choice!
